Andrew L. Schuenemann, PE, LEED® AP
Principal

Andrew As an adolescent with a hammer in his hand helping his father's carpentry company, Andrew was drawn to the design and build industry. He had an early start with designing and building tree forts which fed his fascination with structures and how they connected to the land.

His appreciation for engineering and architecture led him to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he received a Bachelors of Science in Architectural Engineering. Some of his favorite classes outside of his major were Historic Preservation and Adaptive Reuse, Architecture, Ceramics and Real Property Development.

Design has always been a central theme for Andrew. While working, he spent his evenings at the University of Washington for a certification in Digital Design and Fabrication. He loves the idea of rapid prototype modeling and micro manufacturing. This new technology provides a grassroot opportunity for people of all walks of life to quickly manifest an idea into a physical model.

When out of the office Andrew is all about green; be it on the grass for lawn bowling, golf, soccer or backpacking in the emerald wilderness. Armed with his LEED certification and passion, Andrew works to contribute to preserving his outdoor pleasures for his nephews and future generations.

Today Andrew enjoys the collaborative process with architects, developers, builders and homeowners which enables him to provide tailored structural designs with efficiency. Whether he is designing a custom home or multifamily building, he draws on his experience and expertise to create the optimum solution.

With each project Andrew is involved in there is a spark of reminiscent joy, from the time he had that hammer in his hand. He looks forward to passing on his knowledge when he gets to collaborate with his nephews on their first tree fort.
